Non Cognative Trauma Release Techniques

 these may or may not be usefull   the use may vary from person to person   for information only.

What suits one does not suit another.

   It is important that one feels comfortable with a therapist.  It's ok to leave if you are not comfortable

   or if you feel the therapist doesn't understand your needs

   and if the therapist is imposing a set  form of treatment which may be irrelevant.

     this has happened to me many times

Shaking

Levine  writes how an animal after a chase

stops and shakes off the trauma from the rush.

   I have personally found lying on my back and shaking my hands and/ or legs

that I literally shake off the trauma.

 

 

EFT Taping

I came accross EFT (tapping) during one of my internet searches

and have found it benificial.

"Emotional freedom technique (EFT) is an alternative treatment for physical pain and emotional distress. It’s also referred to as tapping or psychological acupressure.

People who use this technique believe tapping the body can create a balance in your energy system and treat pain. According to its developer, Gary Craig, a disruption in energy is the cause of all negative emotions and pain.

Though still being researched, EFT tapping has been used to treat people with anxiety and people with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)."

 I sometimes have to see a few to find the one who

understands my needs

whom I am comfortable with.

this one is tricky

as some are so traumatised by clergy abuse they are triggered by the mention

whilst others find praying a key part of my recovery.

 

We ought to operate within our personal belief system

no one ha the right to impose anything we are not comfortable with.
